I Deeply Believe We Each Possess The Ability To Live In Joy & Gratitude No Matter What’s Happening In Our Lives Or The World

“I never imagined I could enjoy life more than I do now after working with Kat. Her presence alone is transformative, but it is how she integrates and embodies her own work that makes her such a powerful agent of change. “ - Heather Kennedy

Hi, I’m Kat Hill. -

Author, Speaker & Advocate

After a diagnosis of Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 48, I learned to build a life based on the principles of gratitude and joy - not only for my peace of mind but as a fundamental building block for my existence.

I live in Portland, Oregon USA with my husband Ken and Baxter, our excitable Yorkie, in Sellwood, a quaint neighborhood filled with walking trails and bike paths along the Willamette River. Local shops and restaurants are just steps away from my 1920’s craftsman-style home.

After my diagnosis, I ended my practice as a nurse-midwife after delivering over 800 babies and decided to apply the best of my background and experience to help others find a deeper level of joy in their lives.

Practicing how to keep my brain focused on what is truly important in addition to incorporating movement, mindfulness, and gratitude helps me navigate the challenges of living with YOPD.

I love consulting with individuals and groups on finding a deeper level of joy and wellness in their lives by sharing a wide variety of tools and resources that have been useful for myself and others over the years.

Speaking around the world literally and virtually for the World Parkinson Congress and the Davis Phinney Foundation allows me to connect with a global community advocating for finding wellness despite a diagnosis.

Launching a podcast called PD Lemonade is a passion project that I am particularly proud of.

Making art has channeled a personal transformation into defining myself as a writer, artist, and advocate.

I have recently co-authored my first book, “Being Well with Chronic Illness”

We’re all on a journey and I want you to know that I’d love to walk with you along the way and support you in finding joy and wellness no matter what’s happening in your life or around the world.

Wishing you all the best,

Kat

“I was scared to start a Parkinson’s disease exercise class until Kat came up to me with a sparkle in her eye and a guiding presence that made it easier. She has been a source of friendship, mentorship, and inspiration ever since. That was five years ago. I’m not crazy about my diagnosis but with people like Kat in my circle it’s all that much easier to handle. I’m not alone.” - Michelle Garratt

I Choose Joy!

I was honored to be a featured speaker at the
Davis Phinney Foundation Victory Summit in Albany, New York 2020

The conversation focuses on my best advice on how to live well with Parkinson's in addition to some great tips on how you can live a full life.

PD Lemonade Podcast

Since being handed a bag of lemons - a diagnosis of Young Onset PD at the age of 48 - I wanted to create a podcast with a refreshing take on finding joy and the sweetness I’ve found in the aftermath.
