To walk away from my child who was in pain and suffering goes against every fiber of my being.

I will never forget looking out into the audience and seeing so many familiar faces in a county thousands of miles from home.

The bruises are evidence and they serve as a reminder that I am still here, still navigating doorways, still moving, still feeling, and still alive.  

With any transition, there is loss, then healing, and ultimately, growth.
